Having just completed medical school, I was able to see how much of a burden studying can be on your average student. While education is essential for success, studying shouldn't be as rigorous as it currently is. For this reason, I decided to become a tutor so that I can help take some of the burden off of the next generation of students. There's no greater reward than being able to use my own skills and experiences to help someone reach their goals. I believe that a good teacher is one who makes an effort to get to know their students, so that they can understand exactly what their weaknesses and stronger points are. While everyone has the ability to excel in school, not everyone benefits from learning traditionally. Some people need to be engaged, which is why it's important to include a lot of activities and exercises that benefit students with different learning preferences. I also believe that it's important to build professional relationships with your students so that you're able to connect with them on a personal level. By doing that, I find that students are less self-conscious and more motivated to work hard in the classroom. When I'm not working as a doctor, I like spending my time exercising, reading, and playing basketball.
