I went to Duke University to earn my bachelor's degree in biology and art, so I have a broad range of interdisciplinary academic skills. I enjoy using my analytical side as well as my creative side. I went on to UC - Berkeley to earn my doctorate in plant biology, and during my studies I taught graduate and undergraduate level courses. I believe I have a strong background, experience, and ability to motivate students to learn science subjects successfully. I believe everyone can succeed in learning science, but every student is unique and learns in different ways. When I work with students, I figure out how they can be motivated and how I need to adjust my teaching style to match the way they learn best. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, reading, gardening, running, and doing pottery.
