Experience

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). My goal is to become a professor at a primarily undergraduate institution. I have been teaching Organic Chemistry I and II, in addition to the organic chemistry section of an MCAT Prep Class through the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES, the graduate school at the NIH). Although I enjoy teaching, I get the most experience out of tutoring students. By tutoring in a one-on-one environment, I can identify problem areas faster and efficiently guide the student towards the light bulb moment. As a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University, I enjoyed being a teaching assistant for organic chemistry under several different instructors. Those experiences have allowed me to hone my skills of teaching difficult concepts in several different ways to obtain a full understanding of the material.
