Experience
In 2009, I taught at Rockville High School's Journalism Academy summer camp, focusing on the writing and producing aspects of broadcast news. When I attended Rockville High School, I won third place out of the entire school's student population in Newsweek's "My Turn" essay contest. When I graduated in 2010, I passed my SAT with over 1600 and my AP Literature, Psychology, and World History classes with fours. In college, I wrote scholarly essays on film and literature of all types, learning the finer points of scholarly writing as I progressed through my academic career. My college writing classes focused on writing for philosophy and fictional critique. I have also been writing creatively for most of my life, and my first novel is now going through editing. I want to be a tutor because I have always had a passion for the craft of writing, and one of the best ways to exercise it is by teaching it. I hope to help students understand the craft of writing by showing them how powerful a well-written sentence can be.

Hobbies
I write frequently in my free time, most often in the forms of fiction and critique. I also have a deep interest in media of all forms, including literature, film, television, music, video games, and stage performance. When I experience a piece of media, I tend to focus on the inner workings, wanting to see how every little part of the piece works in tandem to create the product the audience is meant to see. In other words, I like to pull back the curtain on everything I see and think critically on what makes it all work.
