Experience
I have attained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hood College. I also attended The Johns Hopkins University-School of Education to earn a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. Through the state of Maryland, I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor. I have been given the opportunity to work as a therapist inside a middle school in Rockville, Maryland. My job has allowed me to work with a variety of adolescents, including those diagnosed with ADHD, in different settings. Other than performing therapy sessions, I also assist with academic clubs, lead group activities, and organize Individualized Education Program meetings. Outside of school, I am involved with a nonprofit program that services youth in the community.My experience with counseling has allowed me to offer a unique perspective when it comes to tutoring. No student is alike, which requires me to build plans that are unique to the individual and their needs. I have mentored students in both group and one-on-one settings. Literature is one of my biggest passions in life, however, I am also available for tutoring in writing, public speaking, social sciences, English, and psychology. Outside of mentoring, I enjoy many different activities. My mother owns a dog training business that I love being a part of when I am free. I also like going to concerts, settling in with a book, and watching a good film. When I can, though, I love to get outside and be involved with nature.
