Experience
I believe that learning math requires more than just memorization skills - it also requires students to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills that have them approach problems the same way that a detective would solve a crime. For this reason, I try to teach math in way that encourages my students to approach problems like they were solving a puzzle. At the moment, I have an associate degree in business and am currently working towards my bachelor's degree in accounting. I also have experience teaching and working as a tutor in a one-on-one fashion for nearly two decades now. During this time, I've been able to help elementary students get a better understanding of their classroom material, as well as assist my peers with methods to improve their study habits and prepare for upcoming tests. During the course of my tutoring career, I've helped teach a lot of advanced level math courses like college algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. I believe that one of the best ways to make sure that students succeed in the classroom is to teach basic concepts until they gain a strong foundation, then build upon those concepts over time. When I'm not teaching math, I like playing sports and watching football and rugby.
