EducationDuke University - Bachelors, Neuroscience, minor in chemistry
ExperienceI have a bachelor's in neuroscience with a chemistry minor from Duke University. While studying at DU, my coursework focused on cognitive neuroscience and electroencephalography. I am firmly dedicated to education and believe it is necessary to successful living. As a tutor, I earn a sense of self-fulfillment while sharing my passion for science with others. It also allows me to offer my support in academic achievement in others. I have tutored underserved communities in Durham as a math tutor, as well as worked as a teacher's assistant for DU's undergrad physics courses. As a medical student in Brazil, I was a teacher's assistant in cardiac physiology at the University of Brasilia School of Medicine. Through my experiences, I learned the importance of understanding a student as an individual and teaching to their unique learning style. I strive to respect their learning pace and skill level when preparing their session, regardless if we are studying pharmacology, chemistry, anatomy, or other subjects. Currently, I am working at the Clinical and Translational Neuroscience Branch and Dynamic Imaging Core of the NIMH. Outside of tutoring and research, I do yoga, bake, go biking, and read a lot. I enjoy playing the electric guitar.
Hobbiesyoga, biking, baking (specially vegan recipes), playing guitar/electric guitar, reading, learning new programming languages/tools
